Wheelchair Ramps Homes

Wheelchair users can read this and discover a highly useful resource that will help improve their mobility throughout the home and gain easy access to those parts that are difficult to reach because of steps.

Welcome to this great new information resource that covers the often neglected topic of wheelchair ramps and especially those that help with accessibility throughout the home. Its a topic that most writers tend to ignore as it is seen as uninteresting and of little value to readers. I beg to differ!

While the humble ramp may be little more than a sheet of metal, aluminum or even wood crafted in a narrow triangular shape that has little more to do than to bridge the risers of steps, curbs and other protrusions to the flat surface that wheelchair users require for smooth maneuverability, it's importance is understated. While they may go ignored, unnoticed or even forgotten about, you soon know when they're not there!

Let's face it, many homes, while generally built on one level at least as fast as the ground floor is concerned, often have a step or two leading to a certain room, in or out the front or back door, or access to garden areas such as patios, decks etc. For able bodied people, these present no problem.

But to a wheelchair user, they can represent an impassable barrier to places they want to go! Sure, a low step can be traversed without too much trouble for many, but what about those folks that are not strong enough to maneuver their chair up or down those steps? What about those who use a motorized chair?

Enter the humble ramp!

Simply by placing a low ramp over the step, even motorized wheelchairs can traverse them with little problem. That's what this site will focus on primarily. I'll be providing information about these often neglected accessories in articles published here that can help you enjoy a better quality of life and improved access to all of your home!
